Search Adair County Traffic Records Online
Adair County is part of the Oklahoma State Courts Network, which means you can look up traffic ticket records at no cost through the OSCN Adair County docket portal. The system is free and open to the public. No login or subscription is needed to run a basic search.
You can search by case number or by the name of the person charged. Traffic cases use the format TR-YYYY-XXXXX, so if you have a citation number you can usually find the case fast. Party name searches work too, and the system supports wildcard options if you are not sure of the exact spelling. Results show docket entries, hearing dates, and case status. Document images may also be available depending on the case and when it was filed. Keep in mind that new filings can take 24 to 48 hours to show up in the system after they are entered at the courthouse.
The OSCN portal at oscn.net also allows online payment for eligible traffic citations. If your ticket qualifies, you can pay fines directly through the e-Payments feature without going to the courthouse. Not all citations are eligible, so check your case status first to see if that option is available.
The OSCN Adair County case search portal is shown below. The screenshot from oscn.net/dockets/getcaseinformation.aspx?db=adair displays the standard search interface used for Adair County traffic ticket records.
The portal lets you search by name, case number, or citation number and shows current case status for Adair County traffic matters.
Note: If you need certified copies of traffic records, you must contact the court clerk directly. Copies run $0.50 to $1.00 per page, and certified copies have an additional fee.
Traffic Citations in Adair County
Traffic citations in Adair County are issued by the Adair County Sheriff's Office and by troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The Sheriff's Office handles county roads and unincorporated areas. OHP troopers patrol the state highways that run through the county. Both agencies send citations to the Adair County District Court for processing.
Once a citation is filed with the court, it becomes a public record. The case gets a TR (traffic) case number. Common violations that come through the Adair County court include speeding, failure to yield, improper lane changes, driving without a valid license, and equipment violations. More serious offenses like driving under the influence go through a criminal case number instead. If a ticket goes unpaid or a court date is missed, the court can issue a warrant and notify the Department of Public Safety to suspend the driver's license.
The Adair County Sheriff's Office also keeps accident reports. If you were in a crash on a county road, you can request the report from the Sheriff's Records Division at the Adair County Courthouse in Stilwell. Reports are usually ready 5 to 10 business days after the incident. You will need to provide the date, location, and names of the parties involved. Fees apply for copies.

Stilwell Municipal Court
The City of Stilwell runs its own municipal court for traffic tickets and ordinance violations within city limits. This court is separate from the Adair County District Court. If you got a ticket from the Stilwell Police Department inside the city, your case goes to municipal court, not the county courthouse.
Stilwell Municipal Court is a court not of record. The maximum fine is $750, and jail time can go up to 60 days for ordinance violations. You can pay in person, by mail, or through the city's online payment system. If you want to appeal a municipal court decision, the appeal goes to the Adair County District Court for a full trial. For questions about city traffic tickets, contact the Stilwell Municipal Court at stilwellok.com.
Note: Municipal court records are separate from District Court records. A ticket from the Stilwell Police Department will not show up in the OSCN system used for county cases.
Requesting Adair County Traffic Records
Adair County follows the Oklahoma Open Records Act for all public record requests. Traffic ticket records held by the District Court are public and available to anyone, not just the person named in the case. You can submit a request in person at the courthouse, by mail, or by email. A valid photo ID is required for in-person requests.
Standard copies cost $0.25 per page. Certified copies run $1.00 per page. The court clerk usually responds within 5 to 10 business days. Some records may be restricted under Oklahoma law. For example, juvenile records are sealed and not public. Expunged records are removed from public access as well. If a request is denied, you can appeal that decision through the process outlined under the Open Records Act.
For most people checking on a specific traffic case, the free OSCN online search at oscn.net will give you what you need without a formal records request. In-person visits and written requests are best for getting official certified copies.
